Week 21 - Feburary 23 - Evry

Sick Week!

Monday: Today I was pretty sick throwing up and stuff, but I think that it was from the sushi I ate that day. I stayed in the apartment all day in bed and set up a doctor's appointment for the following day.

Tuesday: Today we went to district meeting and I felt terrible the whole time. After district meeting we headed to the clinic in Paris 45 minutes away and when we finally got there, they told us that the doctor wasn't in til' tomorrow, so we set up an appointment for the next day. After that we had an appointment with this solid guy named Fabien and it went super well.

Wednesday: Today I felt a lot better but still had a horrible cough. Today was also exchanges and we just went contacting all day and it made my cough even worse in the cold. Then we headed to Paris again to go to the clinic and when I got there the doctor just told me that I had a cold and food poisoning, so that was a big help. He gave me cough medicine and Ibuprofen.

Thursday: Today we ended the exchanges in Melun and taught a guy named Xavier and it didn't go very well. He basically just told us that he doesn't want to be a Mormon. He said even if God told him to be baptized in our church he wouldn't. But he still wants to meet with us and give him all the lessons and come to church.. super weird dude.

Friday: Today we did weekly planning and got some pizza from pizza hut. The pizza hut is way better here by the way. After that we taught this guy named Hubert that we found out has some sort of disorder but still was really sincere and is really interested.

Saturday: Today we taught Jean Louis and a referral from the church named Paul. It went super well and he said yes to being baptized in the first lesson. After that we just contacted.

Sunday: Today at church we had only two of our investigators show up. Jean Louis and Charlie. After church we had Ward mission leader meeting and then after that we headed over to a members house and gave the family home evening lesson. There was a ton of people there. And if any of you know any good object lessons you should email me them. Super nice for teaching things like that.

Week 20 - Feburary 16 - Evry

Week 14 In France!!!

P-Day: Today we played some ball out in the big park next to our apartment and then emailed and then ate some racklettes. After that, we went to family home evening and the member that was teaching the lesson decided it would be good to talk about deep doctrine the whole time. Our investigators were so confused.. 

Tuesday: Today we taught Charlie and then went to a place called Mondville, 45 minutes away and went porting until the night and we found this guy named Pete from Boston and he let us in and we taught him the restoration and he told us he would come to church this Sunday. It was super nice to teach in English.

Wednesday: Today we went and taught this recent convert from Nigeria and he doesn't speak french and barely speaks English so it was difficult, but again super nice to teach in English. After that we watched a movie with Jean-louis and read the Book of Mormon with him. I talked with the mission president this week also to see if Jean-Louis could still be baptised without the approvel of his wife and he said no. He was super bummed when I told him. 

Thursday: Today was zone conference so we headed out to Versaille. The zone leaders and president gave us a training and it was pretty good. After the training he let us watch "Meet the Mormons" and then had an interview with president and his wife, it went super well. They both were super impressed of my french. And to end the night we taught Charlie and then headed to bed.

Friday: Today was weekly planning! Whoop! That was super long. After that we taught Jean-louis and we are almost a fourth of the way done with the book of mormon with him. After that we did some porting in Evry and no one let us in. Shocker..

Saturday: Today we went to a super nice town called Boineville to do door to door and it rained like crazy, we were soaked. After that we went contacting in the park and got a few numbers.

Sunday: Today we headed to church and a white guy named Oubert that we contacted on Saturday was there. He said he liked it a lot. After church I went home and felt super sick and threw up, so we stayed in for the rest of the night. I didn't sleep one second last night. Missed my mom pretty bad. Today I have a super bad cough and my back hurts like a mother but feeling better as the day goes on.

Week 19 - February 9 - Evry

New Companion!

P-day: Today we cleaned the apartment, got some groceries and then played basketball in the park next to us. At night we had family home evening at the church and we had a pretty good turnout. three of our investigators were there plus the other missionaries investigators and a ton of members. Pretty solid.

Tuesday: Today we taught Charlie and set a baptismal date for him on the 28th of march. after that we taught a brotha named Carlos in the park because he refuses to go inside a church and talk about Jesus and we didn't really get anywhere with him. To end the day we taught Jean-Louis and watched the John tanner story with him.

Wednesday: Today I picked up my new comp from Chatelet and said goodbye to my super solid trainer. My new comp, Elder Blackham is a super shy.  He isn't very fluent in his french, but I am trying to help him out as much as I can.  It is going to help me just as much. That night we had ward council and I was stressin' pretty bad because I didn't think I could do it with the french I had but it turned out pretty well.

Thursday: Today we taught Charlie and it went pretty well. After that we went to a place just out of Evry to go door to door for the rest of the night and we found a guy named Pete from Chicago and he let us in and taught him about the Book of Mormon in English. Super nice.

Friday: Today we did weekly planning and then taught Jean-Louis. We just read out of the Book of Mormon with him and he can't wait to be baptized.

Saturday: Today we did service for this one lady from Utah that owned a candle company called "Salt City" and helped her move all of her inventory to another place in Paris. After that we went to ward mission leader meeting and then did some more door to door until the end of the night.

Sunday: Church today was pretty solid. We had all three of our investigators show up today and we set up a bunch of lessons with the members for next week. After church we went contacting the rest of the day in the park next to our house. It went pretty well because there was a ton of families taking a Sunday evening walk so it was perfect.

One of Jaxon's best friends got her call to Paris France also and he was able to see her when he was dropping his companion off at the Mission office.  It was nice for him to see someone from home. Sister Mia Clements, serving in Liège, Belgium.

Week 18 - Feburary 2 - Evry

 Week 12 in France!

Bonjour mes fréres et soeurs,

Monday: We did some shopping, cleaned the apartment, hung out in the apartment and emailed. After that we went to the church and a guy named Charlie that we met a couple days before came to family home evening with the ward, but it ended up just being my comp and I, Charlie and two other members so we decided to watch the restoration video and asked him to be baptised and he said yes! Pretty sweet day.

Tuesday: Today we had district meeting and exchanges. Elder Ireland gave the training because it was his last district meeting in the mission, it was super good.  After that Elder Congerton (the elder I did exchanges with) taught Alan about the plan of salvation. After that we taught a new investigator Edner the restoration. Then to finish off the day we went to a members house and had order-in pizza.

Wednesday: Today we headed over to Melun to end the exchanges, came back to Evry, did a butt load of contacting, and then watched the movie "Legacy" with him and he loved it. Whenever something bad happened he would yell "Ooo la la! C'est pa vrai!" haha.

Thursday: Today we taught our new investigator Charlie. It was pretty akward because I think he is gay. After that we went over to a members house and had just strait up carrot soup! Haha 

Friday:Today we taught Charlie again and we taught him the law of chastity and forgiveness. He told us that we didn't have any problems with it, but still a little sketchy! After that we taught Alan and his wife about questions he had in the Book of Mormon. After that I did the last weekly planning session by myself because Ireland is going home. 

Saturday: We went to the church in the morning and cleaned with the one other member that showed up. After that we checked the Repetoir to see who my next comp would be and his name is Elder Blackham. Apparently he was in the same MTC group as Elder Empey in my apartment and said he was super cool, so I'm pretty pumped. Then we taught charlie again about the priesthood and proper authority and said that he would think about being baptised on the 14 of Feb. After that we had DMP meeting and then did some door to door in a super nice city called Etoile.

Sunday:Fast Sunday! Whoop! today we went to church and then went porting right from church all the way until 6:00 to eat dinner. After that we went into an apartment building and went door to door looking for some nice Africans but instead found one of chase's buddies from china that said she wants us to come back and teach her and her family! Pretty sweet!

In transfer 3 already!
